A Clubhouse for Seniors

A place where you meet new friends and create lasting memories

The City's Senior Scene Clubhouse is a free “drop-in” program offering a variety of activities and a great place to meet new friends. No reservations are needed. Highlights of programs, activities, and services include our meal program, transportation, card playing, board games, monthly game tournaments, wellness lectures, exercise classes, computer classes, craft classes, a book club, monthly activities calendar, movies and much more.

2016 Jim Sax Award Nomination 

City of Lake Forest Senior Volunteer of the Year

The City of is planning its 12th annual Excellence for Seniors Award Luncheon. The Excellence for Seniors Awards will honor those who have made an outstanding difference in the lives of our senior community and the City’s programming efforts. The City is accepting nominations for the individual who has made the largest impact on the City’s senior programs and/or facilities during 2016, upholding our mission statement:

"Recognizing outstanding contributions made on behalf of Lake Forest Seniors! "

The Sax Award will honor the selected individual and will be given annually as we seek to recognize these outstanding efforts. Eligibility is limited to Lake Forest residents only. To make a nomination, fill out a nomination application of your nominee’s accomplishments (i.e. donation of time or needed items, hands-on involvement, etc.) with an emphasis on special efforts or achievements of the individual you believe deserves to be recognized with the prestigious Sax Award.

Applications and statements are due by Thursday, February 23, 2017, by 5:00 p.m.. A nominee is not selected based on total number of votes. A recipient who has won cannot win in consecutive years but can be nominated and considered after three years of receiving the first Jim Sax Award. A panel of judges (Mayor, Mayor Pro-Tem, Planning Commissioners Chair and Co-Chair, and Parks & Recreation Commissioners Chair and Co-Chair) will review all nominations. Elected officials or staff members are not eligible.
