Q: How are commissioners selected?
A:When a vacancy occurs for either commission, the City Clerk publishes a notice to alert Lake Forest residents about an opportunity(s) to serve on either commission. Interested parties are asked to fill out an application detailing their qualifications and interest in serving on either commission. Applications received prior to the application deadline are forwarded to the City Council for their consideration. After interviewing applicants, the City Council votes to select an applicant to serve on a commission.

Q:Can I place an item on the City Council agenda?
A:No. The City Council does not allow members of the public to place items on the agenda. However, the public is invited to participate in the Council meeting by bringing their item to the attention of the City Council during the Public Comment portion of each meeting. Although state law prohibits the City Council from taking any action on the item, they may choose to place the item on a future agenda.
