![]() Good Samaritans Wanted to Assist Police Officers, Firefighters, and HospitalsThe Orange County Chapter of the Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) is seeking citizen volunteers for their crisis intervention program. Volunteers will be trained to help fellow citizens who are in distress as a result of having been the victim of a crime or other traumatic event. Volunteers are called to emergency scenes by police officers, firefighters, or hospital personnel to assist citizens who are despondent, victims of burglary and robbery, family members of suicide or sudden death, family disputes, disoriented older persons, and other crisis situations. The training class begins on Thursday, February 1, 2007. No prior experience is necessary to attend training or to become a volunteer.
