Community members are invited to take part in the 12th annual Community Emergency Preparedness Academy (C.E.P.A.) beginning March 1, 2017. C.E.P.A. is a joint effort between the City of Lake Forest, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Orange County Fire Authority, and Care Ambulance to provide instruction and training for emergency situations. The six-week program covers earthquake preparedness, threat assessment, fire safety, disaster medical operations, CPR/AED certification, and principles of light search and rescue. In addition, participants will undergo a “Final Exercise” where they will utilize their new skills during a hands-on exercise that simulates a real disaster.
Training sessions will be held at City Hall (25550 Commercentre Drive, Suite 100) for six consecutive Wednesdays beginning at 6:00 p.m. Dinner and refreshments are provided at each training session.
Please contact Stephanie Karg at [email protected] or (949) 461-3474 to register for the training program. Once the class is full, interested participants will be placed on an interest list for next year’s academy.
