“Know Before You Fly” is an educational campaign developed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in conjunction with the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International and the Academy of Model Aeronautics to inform users of safe and responsible operation of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) or drones. Additionally, the FAA requires drones weighing over 0.55 pounds be registered with the FAA before continued operation.
